My sites were originally built using no html apart from that given by Bravenet for the Hit Counter. Wanting to use many photos which I had learnt take up a lot of space I noticed a number of sites had thumbnails that enlarged. I wrote to those who had an address asking for the code. All but one of those who replied gave me the information in a technical way that was beyond my understanding. I have mostly found the more expert a person is in their field the less ability they have to give simple explanations.
Finally someone gave me an easy to understand explanation with the code as follows with the instruction to change the first words in red to that of my website and the second red words to the name of my picture. Do the same on the second line but note the name of the second word has the addition of ‘a’ after it. Both pictures should be loaded into Images as you normally would but not used. The code is then copied and pasted in the Code Editor.

I have put the photo on a side panel and you will note a small square with a Red X in it. This is what happens if you have made a mistake in the code or the name of the picture.
Having made some mistakes initially I found it extremely difficult at times to find the error which might be so small the eye didn’t spot it. It confirmed my decision not to bother learning to use html for all website building.

The only other code I have used is text moving upwards. Done just for the fun of it. See Codes below
<MARQUEE scrollDelay=500 direction=up width=500 bgColor=yellow font="4"><FONT size=4>This is a sponsored site so advertisments have to be allowed. Most pop up types can be blocked with a free programme available on the internet.Google have one on their toolbar options</FONT></MARQUEE> <P>
Simply replace my text with your own.
You will see Width which is that of the area used, Color of the background and size of the font. These can all be changed.
To illustrate how eay it is to have a problem with html I used the English spelling colour in the above example and the moving text didn't appear. It took some time before I realised it needed the Amercan color.

A SLIDE SHOW
is normally inserted using html which can be very lengthy and for a beginner subject to frustrating errors. There are at least three SIMPLE ALTERNATIVES.
(1) I use Microsoft Picture It 2002 and there are no doubt similar programmes available. Size and delay between images can be regulated. I have made it small to fit on a side panel. It is inserted as you would any image.
(2) There is a free programme “Microsft Power Toy” which gives the result below. Music can be added
(3) If you have Windows XP then you can use ‘Movie Maker” which allows the addition of music and your own narration. In both of these methods put it on You Tube and use the code in Code Editor on your site.
